Magma Fincorp up 12 per cent
The stock jumped 12 per cent to Rs 204.85, after the foreign institutional investors (fii) bought companys shares through block deals on BSE and NSE. Citigroup Global Market Mauritius, acquired 750,000 equity shares at an average price of Rs 190.22 on Monday.

PSU stocks up 1-7 per cent
The public sector undertaking (PSU) stocks gained between 1 per cent and 7 per cent on reports that the government plans fast-track disinvestment of three firms and aims to complete the process by the end of the current financial year. Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) was up 5 per cent to Rs 252.50, NMDC was up 3.6 per cent to Rs 434 and NTPC was up 1 per cent to Rs 233.10 on BSE.

M surges 2.4 per cent
The stock gained 2.4 per cent to Rs 1,178.15, a lifetime high, after the company announced more than 100 per cent growth in its domestic auto sales for the month of December 2009. The domestic auto sales stood at 22,754 units, as against 10,253 units in December 2008, up 2.22 times.

ACC rises 5%
The stock jumped 5 per cent to Rs 913.95 after the company inaugurated a 1.2 million tonne factory at Kudithini village in Karnataka, 16th in the country, on an investment of Rs 370 crore. With the new plant, the companys total annual capacity has gone up to 26 million tonnes. It has also consolidated the companys position as India's largest cement producer.

The stock frozen 20 per cent upper limit of circuit filter to Rs 9,672.50, after the prices of sugar rose sharply. Ex-mill sugar price in Uttar Pradesh is at a record high of Rs 3,700 a quintal. The prices have gone up 7-8 per cent in a month, though crushing season is on.
